LANGUAGE FUSED IN BLOOD : English Transversion of Rajasthani poetry PAACHE KUN AASI by DR. Neeraj Daiya
Language Fused in Blood - A Dedication to Mother tongue.
If a race is enslaved and if it holds onto its mother tongue, it is as if it has key to the prison it is put into. This thought struck me on my first reading of the poems by Dr.Neeraj Daiya. It reflects his culture, his society, its way of communication, its way of celebration and its way of existence in totality. The poems probe deep into human psychology and emotions and are presented in a very thought provoking way. The beauty about the poems is that they are thought provoking, are rich in aesthetic pleasure and bind you to yourself with a flowery band; they make you recall the good old days of adolescence ad the enriching experience of life
This befitting and beneficial recreation, translation of Dr. Daiya poetic masterpiece Pacho kun Aasi is an attempt worth a hundred acclaim. In her recreation of the poems, Ms. Rajni Chhabra has worked wonders.
The originality of the poems and its essence and echoes remain intact in the entire recreated poems .We find the re creator of the poem interacting with the creator of poems.
This Poetry Book of 57 poems is a feast for your literary buds and re associates you with your roots.
At time the poet seeks to revive the man within man.
I invoke you
Usher call after call
I call you repeatedly
Finding yourself within is a blessing
And forgetting is sin.
A thought has been expressed in a wonderful way
Uniting with you
Was my virtue
Parting with you
Damnation.
Some poems are laconic and have brave brevity.
It is not right
To be very simple
The book would take to you to a different land where you find-
Though in front of me was
Sea full of sand
Still in dunes
Creating an illusion
Love is incarnated in your heart you when you read
If I part with you
Instead of dying four days later
Will die four days earlier.
Again, another poem acquaints us with nature of true love.
Only love can really
Make us totally blind
Because only in love
I say day
And you deem night as day
I congratulate both Dr.Daiya and Ms.Rajni Chhabra, wishing them wider recognition in literary world on global level. The translated version gives the impression of original writing and this is the measure of success of a translator. The poems do connect us with our blood and our roots; hence, aptly named
Language Fused in Blood and I find my identity, existence and roots fused in the book. For sure, this book deserves a hearty welcome.
