PRELUSION : A HANDFUL OF HOPE

  PRELUSION

A HANDFUL OF HOPE

After soulful thanks to Almighty for His choicest blessings for successful completion of 'A Handful of Hope', my trans-verted Poetry Book from Hindi Poetry 'Anjuri Bhar Aas' of Promila Bhardwaj into English, I would like to extend my heartiest thanks to global readers for constantly devouring my all literary works.

I have been treading literary corridors since several years and I have made my humble contribution to literature, composing poems in English, Hindi and Punjabi. Besides, I have trans-verted 19 books so far from Hindi, Rajasthani , Punjabi and Nepali into English as target language.

Translation helps literature to travel. It is a means through which writers can speak across generations and culture. Translation is perceived as communication between two languages; it acts as a bridge. It widens literary corridors, especially, when it is translated into English, it opens wide avenues to get it further translated into regional languages and to transcend linguistic borders on international level too.. It makes the world stronger for the true goal of peace, equality and bliss.

Beautifully penned poems by reputed bi-lingual Poetess Promila Punnu Bhardwaj, originally in Hindi titled 'Anjuri Bhar Aas'are tinged with lofty goals of life and encompass virtues of love, compassion, trust, hope, courage, devotion and divinity. Poetess has tone of a seer and her deep philosophy, philanthropic bend of mind expressed through these poems is highly commendable.

The title, ' A Handful of Hope'  gives us a peep into the optimistic bend of mind of  the Poetess. As she is endowed with mystical bend of mind, her poems are tinged with spiritualism and deep philosophy of  life. Deep perception in tranquil surroundings spontaneously flows in her poetry. She hails from charming, hilly Himachal Pradesh, which bestowed her with chance to enjoy and appreciate beauty of natural surroundings, its enchanting beauty and serenity. She had ample opportunities to enjoy bliss of nature, in a world in which there was no meddling of mobile phones, social media and internet. People had direct social interaction and basked in the coziness of affection and humane values. The vision  was blessed with serenity of the ambience. amidst soothing beauty of nature.

She invites us to a treat for eyes, in her several poems 'Hills Changing Attire', 'India Dwells in Villages', Rural Evening Walk', Village Awakens', 'Horizon etc. These poems spontaneously conjure the picturesque hills, beauteous flowers, smiling petals, realms of greenery and glitter  our mind.

The poetess seems to be in quest of self -identification. through self introspection. She feels concern for degeneration of social values, shattering bonds of affinity femicide, war and violence,

Imbued with purity of soul, poems of this collection are capable of casting a lasting impact on mind of soulful readers.

Persistence of the Earth

Vastness of sky,

Comprises in you

Comprises in us,

Complete reality of

The whole Universe is

As much unsolved riddle

As horizon

(Horizon)
Poems of Promila Bhardwaj carry note of optimism, as she is viewing silvery lines at the edge of inky dark clouds. Her close association with nature , as she hails from Himachal Pradesh , boosts her imagery and provides a treat to eyes of readers as well.

In hills, on opening doors

Every early morning,

Chirping-hopping

Colourful birds

Wish Good Morning

Blossoms bow down

To greet you

Pure cool breeze

Touching softly

Fills freshness in eyes

(Dawn in Hills)

These soulful poems tinged with innate depth of thought and resonant imagery are a treat for mind, capable of fetching solace and healing stressed minds of the voracious readers.

I hope, you will enjoy these poems; reviews and comments from voracious readers of poetry are always a precious treasure for me.

Lastly, I extend my heartful gratitude to the Publisher and his entire team for so aesthetically crafting my dream-book into reality.
